Dawn Arruda, a third-generation real estate agent and the newest Realtor to hang her license with Ross Real Estate.  Dawn’s father Lynn Bartle and her grandmother Emma Bartle were agents in her hometown of Hagerstown, Maryland. Dawn’s journey into real estate would happen later in life when her family relocated to Warrenton, VA.  

 

Dawn started her career path in the United States Air Force serving a total of 10 years active and reserves. She honed her problem solving skills as an aircraft mechanic on the C-130 aircraft that she hoped would be the aircraft she would fly instead of fix. As life throws you in different directions for lots of reasons, the Air Force threw her a curve ball when her vision could not be corrected to 20/20 but in hindsight (pun intended) she was happy to be in charge of maintainining the aircraft instead and still enjoyed traveling the world. Her problem solving skills help her get her crew home when needed and extend the stay when the beaches looked too good to pass up Dawn reminisces. 

 

Fast forward to 2002, leaving behind her first self entrepreneurial  business in MD, Dawn and her family move to Fauquier County for a job transfer to Vint Hill ATC(air traffic control). That is when she knew it was time to start her real estate career.

 

“I sat down with my family and said, you know, I think this would probably be a good time for me to jump into real estate because we're going to be here for a long time … I got my license in 2006 and my very first listing was a short sale that a relocation company would not touch. I realized there was a need for agents who could understand and help people that were upside down with their homes. I became very proficient at short sales. That combined with putting my clients first, launched my career. I started changing things up and really learned how to get my clients homes in front of more people and share more information in other avenues of technology. I jumped in just like my dad told me, “always put your clients first and the rest will follow,” and he was right.  

 

Dawn comes to Ross Real Estate with 17 years of experience and many awards come with her. To name a few; 12 years in a row of top producer, numerous association awards and the most distinguished was her Realtor of the Year for the pandemic year of 2020!  Dawn says, "These are all products of a good work ethic and when you love your work, which I do. And, because I love my clients, it is easy to accomplish my goals."

 

Dawn comes to Tyler Ross for the collaborative and creative atmosphere for which the  brokerage has made its name. “One of the things that I have always liked about Tyler is when he and I would have our talk sessions when we would meet up at an event or broker open, we loved bouncing ideas and talking about how we could do business cooperatively and not separately and how that helps all of our clients achieve their goals." Brainstorming and problem solving is a constant in real estate and having a Broker that can do that with you is very important to me. “In this job you need to have support, and you need to have someone who can shift with the ever changing real  estate environment.  We Realtors wake up with a plan, and like life we have to deviate sometimes.
